Pickleball was first invented back in the 1960s as a backyard game. It has since then slowly gained popularity in America and since the 2000's has started to spread across the world.

Pickleball is a racket sport, combining parts of badminton, table tennis and tennis. It can be played as simply as lowering any existing badminton net to half height, and using table tennis paddles with a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball.

We at SchoolSupplier think that Pickleball has seen such massive growth over the past few years both in America and in the UK, that it warrants more information and play to be made available to children and the wider community. It is not only possible to enjoy it as a young person, elderly people can and have been reported to enjoy playing the sport.

Pickleball is a fun sport that can double the usable space of any existing tennis courts, using half of a court per game, making it extremely efficient on existing court space.
